Women in Mentoring
"I became a mentor because I have always believed it is my community duty to give back what I have received. Many people have helped me along the way in the successful operation of my small business and I sincerely want to help other people find that same success."
Carolyn Frichot, marketing and communications consultant and small business operator for 25 years.
Women’s business!
Women entrepreneurship is a unique field. We recognise, and seek to encourage, the special contribution women in business make to community involvement and economic growth and prosperity.
Similarly, we recognise that women mentors often have very different reasons for volunteering their time and energy than what is considered traditional mentoring:
- We LOVE the networking opportunities
- It’s our way of THANKING THE COMMUNITY that has supported us
- It’s FLEXIBLE – as little or as much time as we can give
- We’re AN EXPERT in our field and love to pass that on
- We embrace the OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN
How we do it
Women in business and working in the community often find unique ways to gather support and connect with each other. Apart from face-to-face or telephone consultations, our Mentor Services can also offer:
- Online mentoring
- Skype meetings for long-distance mentoring
- Cafe meetings
- Events training to support mentors and encourage new recruits
If you have any other great ideas about mentoring, please let us know.
