How it works!
After successful acceptance as a mentor, you are placed on our database that details your industry experience and skills.
Mentor Services is contacted by a prospective client and we match them up with a mentor who meets their specific needs.
When required, we ask mentors to then make contact with their client for further discussions.
There are no set rules for mentoring. Mentoring styles will vary depending on the characteristics and personalities of the Mentors, the individual clients and their businesses; and the type of problems involved.
You are not there to make decisions for your client, but to provide opinions (and reasons for the opinions) on the business decisions and direction your client may take. It is your client’s decision as to whether they implement those opinions.
Safeguards
A Mentor Services mentor provides an opinion (and reasons for that opinion) on the business decisions and directions a client may wish to take. This opinion is often expressed as “If it was me, I would now (opinion) for (reasons) - but the decision is up to you (the client)”. This type of terminology, together with a Confidentiality Agreement and Release, protects you and Mentor Services in today’s litigious world.
It is recommended that the word ‘advice’ is not used.
Mentor Services carry substantial Professional Indemnity and General Liability insurance policies.
